I got tired of fitting in by default. I got tired of cool and weird fashion choices only coming in XS and being made in a sweatshop.
I got tired of seeing $10,000 price tags on co-opted DIY fashion and thinking- “I could literally just make that with shit from the thrift and ACE Hardware”.
So finally I did. For all the people who get it. I love what I’ve made, I glow with etherial alien confidence when I wear it, and I thought other people might love to feel like that too.
I thrift all of the base pieces and, regardless if its my size or not, if its really cool I try to snag it for us and make it special. If you don’t see your size but you have something you want me to put some hardware on, DM me on Insta @motelvenus.studio and lets have fun like we’re 13 again.
WHAT IS THIS PLACE?
I primarily created Motel Venus as a space where I can share any and all of my creations and express every bizarre dimension of myself without holding anything back or hiding away- and thats where this will always be centered.
Essentially, its a vacation on a different planet. Where the parking lot always has spots, the room keys open everything but nothing is ever locked, where all of the toilets have ashtrays, the walls taste like snozzberries, nothing really has to make sense or have a reason. Willy Wonka would stay here next to Ozzy Osbourne and Betsy Johnson would lay by the pool while Bob Ross plants a platinum eyeball tree with David Bowie. It just is and those that get it, get it.
Motel Venus is THAT playground where I can check in and freak out so I figured I’d share it as a place that you can check in and freak out so that WE can freak out together. Because the real world is too freaky to face alone.
So, lets go to Motel Venus and fuck off for a while.
